The Pure Energy of the Gesture

True to the spirit of the German literary and artistic movement from which it draws its name, Sturm und Drang (Storm and Stress) is a work of rare intensity. German artist Timo Wedell delivers a vibrant abstract composition here, dictated by impulse and raw emotion. The viewer is carried away into a whirlwind of passionate red, textured white, and dark, golden splatters that immediately capture the eye.

A Living and Unique Material

Every creation by Timo Wedell is an Unikat: a unique piece, as the artist refuses any reproduction. Crafted using a mixed technique combining acrylic paint and aerosol, the canvas bears the stigmas of its handmade creation. The brush layering, splatters, spatula reliefs, as well as micro-cracks, drips, or intentional irregularities are not defects. They constitute the very DNA of his art, a textured and living material that gives the canvas all its depth and prestige.

Exhibition Freedom

To allow for total freedom of interpretation and integration into your interior, the work is signed and dated exclusively on the reverse. It can therefore be hung either horizontally or vertically according to your aesthetic preferences.

The POPINCOURT Gallery's Opinion

With "Sturm und Drang," Timo Wedell signs a work that does not leave one indifferent. It is the striking contrast between the physicality of the paint (the reliefs, the bare-hand work) and the contemporary elegance it exudes once placed in a setting. Present in private collections around the world, Wedell's painting brings that extra soul, exclusivity, and graphic luxury essential to minimalist interiors or professional spaces with character.
